Having just installed SuSE Linux 8.1 on the system I intend to run my web server from, I am looking for the settings that define which services to start. I cannot find anything that matches the START_HTTPD parameter (or something like that) that was available with SuSE Linux 7.3 which I come from. How does one define that Apache should be started standalone (not inetd)? Best regards, David List

In 8.0pro and Yast there is Runlevel editor (under System part).. There you can set Apache to start in prefered Runlevel P_
