I looked in the database, but didn't find it listed. Someone gave me a Cyrix MII-300GP and I thought I would replace my P-166MMX in the MoBo (I already contacted the mobo manufacturer and made sure it supports it). Anyone had any problems with this processor and Suse 6.2? Most cool. :-) I performed a very similar upgrade when a very nice gentleman (Hi Ron!) sent me a 233MHz MII Cyrix processor he had lying around.

The M-II I'm using has been *very* stable and reliable in my router/firewall machine. I custom compiled my own kernel for it using the following processor selection: (PPro/686MX) Processor family, you should be able to do the same and enjoy the increased speed. <snip> Nope, they go just fine & when/if you re-compile your kernel, you will see in processors, that it comes up as an option too. I just yesterday swapped out my Cyrix MII 300 for a AMD-K6-2-450 & upgraded my ram from 64 megs EDO @ 66hz to 128 megs @ 100 hz. Just to check it out, I recompiled & it took about 4 & a half minz.... Ye Godz, I wonder how long it takes with an Athlon? Sigh, just a wee bit faster.... *BFN* Greek Geek. The need for speed is often inversely related to the bank balance..... --GG. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
