[opensuse] Problem with KDE: About Me configuration
Hi, Maybe I wrong, but I think very strange that when I setting Downloads Path on About Me configuration to a new directory, like ~/Download, all the directories and files of my home (~) are moved to that directory. I think that the Downloads Path is the directory when I put the files in internet download process. This a bug or not? I think this is a very annoying feature of KDE4 aimed at people too stupid to know what a directory is or where they have saved previously downloaded files. It happens with all the "About Me" path settings (what the hell "about me" has to do with file paths is open for debate). I set my default document path the "~" as a matter of preference. Yes, KDE4 asks me if I want to move all the files in "~/Documents" to "~" when I change the default path. Nobody in their right mind would want to clutter their home directory with all their Document, but KDE4 tries to do it with every path change. Not a bug by KDE standards, just poor software design. The KDE About Me should show info about the user - similar to what can be found in GNOME. Roman -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I agree. In the future, I wouldn't be surprised if Yast gets integrated into the Control Center. IMO The problem with that is that it appears too busy with too many icons - in GNOME.
