I just want to thank the folks at Suse for an outstanding job with version 6.4 I have installed the 4.0 version of XFree86 and I finally found a Unix/Linux system that takes advantage of my Riva TNT2 card. I still can't beleive this kind of picture in linux. Finally someone has solve the printing problem. Ever since suse 5.3 I have never been able to print under linux without the printer taking off and spewing page after page of one line garbage or symbols. I now have a LaserJet 6MP and a DeskJet 890Cxi working like a champ. One question? The HPDJ driver says it's mono. The one I used on all past suse distributions produced color that was as good as or better than the HP Windoz driver. What happened? Anyway, I'm so happy I'm trying to set up trutype fonts for X11. Haven't felt this good since I reformatted my Windoz hard drive. Rusty: How'd you get it to 'take advantage' of your TNT2? I just installed Xfree4.0, and I'm getting software-speed 3d performance... I know it's using the correct (NV) driver, I know it's initializing properly (went through the log file with a fine-toothed comb), I made the virtual link from libMesaGL.so.3 to libGL.so.1.2... Everything works, but it's just *INSANELY* slow... Also, on the (I think it's GLXinfo? something like that) screen, it shows GLX to be 'indirect'... I thought it was just using software mode, 'cause I don't have a Kernel Module (for DRI)... I'm not super-familiar with Linux, so I'm apparently doing something completely wrong... Hello, Rooty! It reminds me goodol' joke "Thanks to the government for having bread available, at last." IT SHOULD WORK ALL OK! And if it does not, it is a fault of SuSE team. But of course, we should say "Thanks" for those things they do, although, Microsoft has done that several years ago. ;) P.S.: I am SuSE fan as well, so don`t look at me like to MS lawyer. it is microsoft's fault that only them took over the market. the delay in comfort using linux is due to microsoft rotting the market with their filthy osses. we shouldn't thanks microsoft for anything. when gates first came to my country he got four pastry direct hits in the face. last year he came back with armored limousine and bodyguards. lol !! just like we were about to waste even more good food on his plastic-surgeoned moronic face. ethh pgp5 public key available @ hkp://keys.pgp.com/ethh@enemy.org rc5-64 team #15802 doom space marines http://doomnation.com/rc5 On Fri, 14 Apr 2000, Egor Molodov wrote:

Yes, and Mr. Godin should be an inspiration to us all.... ;) The SuSE workstation in my office has now gone 1 year, 2 months, and 9 days without crashing-- that was the day I nuked Windoze.
