I have the Suse 9.1 and recently I have noticed that the xmgrace is behaving somewhat different. The main thing is that I cannot access, for any font, the second group (below) of characters in the font tool. I click on them but nothing happens. If I click on the characters of the first group (above) it's alright. This is really annoying because I have to use very often for example the "Angstrom" character, or the "degree" character. My feeling is that it is a font problem, i.e., that xmgrace is trying to locate a font that used to be available in the distro but may not be anymore, or that xmgrace now requires a different set of fonts that are not in the distro. Using locale en_GB.UTF-8 I see the same problem. Using locale en_IE@euro, it works well. My guess would be that xmgrace can't handle utf8
