How to send email including pictures (from the command line)
I know it is a strange question, but I wonder how this can be done. If I see a home page with Netscape, I can forward this page to somebody as e-mail. The receiver will have the pictures, background, .. everything included. I want to know how I can prepare such a file, so that I can use: cat file |mail -s subject receiver@mail.com so that the receiver get the mail like I would do with Netscape. bye Ronald Ronald Wiplinger (ÃQ¤¯¯Ç), CEO, ELMIT - The Solution Provider Tel. +886 2 8809-7680, Fax. +886 2 2809-0183, Mobile: +886 915 653-452 Net2Phone:8869550066, ICQ: 111651169 http://www.elmit.com http://www.wiplinger.org
Isnt Netscape just sending the HTML code which means their client is getting it off the net and not that it was sent? Yes, no. Netscape's mailer can send "Rich" (HTML) mail if configured that way, but no, the entire contens from <html> to </html> are actually sent in the mail. Have you ever used a mime-capable text mode email client? It's quite annoying to deal with HTML... ===== -- -=|JP|=- Hit me! - http://www.xanga.com/cowboydren/ Jon Pennington | Debian 2.3 -o) cowboydren @ yahoo . com | Auto Enthusiast /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | ICQ UIN 69 67 29 31 _\_V
you could save the webpage as a postscript file, then use a ps to html converter then mail the file On Wed, 24 Oct 2001, Ronald Wiplinger wrote:
