I have a backup on software raid array of my 9.0 Evolution sub-directory. I'd like to get back my e-mails but when I use the Import command by file, and name the appropriate mbox, the program complains it does't have the correct files to import ? Any idea or what other information I need to provide ? Thanks, Dee

Check the permissions on the backup. 9.1 changed default UID from 500 to 1000, so if you did a fresh install, the permission on your backup is likely wrong

The import of old evolution mbox files like you're trying to do above works well for me. Import->single file->path/Automatic Check the mbox file with vi or some other text editor and make sure you can read it at all, and that it hasn't been corrupted Also check with file /home/deem/filebin/deem/evolution/local/Inbox/subfolders/Dee/mbox to see what type of file the system thinks it is. If everything is good it should say "ASCII mail text"

Anders, would a su to root be in order, so that one would chown Mike:users file.name , for example the backup file to make it importable? Mike
