Hi, Recently, SuSE Linux 7.3 has been installed in some machines in the lab where I work. In the first time I tried to use it, I noticed some problems with KDE 2.2.2. When I point the mouse cursor over any icon on my desktop, all icons disappear. I don't manage to create new icons because the right and middle mouse buttons stop working. This doesn't happen with the other window managers. Someone told me that the machines are using framebuffer, but I neither know what that means nor if it has anything to do with the problem. I thank in advance any help. now this sounds familiar! I had the same problem. I think it was due to installation of the basic-kde-rpm. you have to have install more: audiofile- kdebase-2.2.2-8.i386- kdebase-ksysguardd- kdebase- kdelibs-artsd- kdelibs- libmng- libogg- libvorbis- libxml2 libxslt- gt-extensions- gt- after I installed all that, it all went well, good luck, piet Adriano Vilela Barbosa wrote:

I'll try it as soon as I have some time. Thank you very much, Adriano. On Tuesday 02 April 2002 16:51, PR wrote:

[...] Another suggestion is to update KDE to 2.2.2 using Yast2 / Software / Online Update. It's also a good idea to run this every now and then to check for important security upgrades.
