Preparing Patch CD for SuSE 9.0
I am running a SuSE Linux box that is not connected to a network (the internet). Therefore, the YaST Online Updater (YOU) doesn't find the site that provides updates. Looking at Yast, it appears that it's possible to bring the updates to the machine via a CD. I have downloaded the patch rpms (in most case, some are full rpms) and put them on a CD. When I run the Patch CD Update tool in YaST I get an error that it couldn't find "./i386/update/9.0/patches/directory.3". I tried creating this directory and put the patches (rpms) there, but YOU didn't find any patches to install. Is there a document or other source of info that describes what a patch CD needs to look like to work with YOU? I did find a document labeled FTP Patch Update, but it was a bit sketchy and the patch description files it refers to ought to be available somewhere. Is this true? In the absence of this, how do I know the order of installation of the 60 or so rpms that I downloaded?
