Suse 9.1 - CD drive pops open after logging into KDE...
Greetings! When I logged into the KDE desktop (Suse 9.1) on my file server, my cdrom drive pops open. If I close it, it'll pop back open. It's an old Mitsumi 24x cdrom drive. I have never use the cdrom drive under KDE and never had this problem before. Software or hardware problem? Thanks! Christopher

Seems like a quirk with the drive. When you log in to KDE, the applet "SuSEplugger" starts, which attempts to detect when media is inserted into the CD drive. That detection should normally do nothing if the drive is empty, however in your case in seems that there is the side effect of opening the drawer. -Ti
