[opensuse] KDE:UpdatedApps repo is empty
I looked at http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/UpdatedApps/ and the directory seems empty. I have used this when I installed my machine months ago and I think the error messages started earlier this week. Not sure who to report this to. There was discussion about changes of KDE repositories at KDE ML. See http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-kde/2013-10/msg00056.html and http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-kde/2013-10/msg00088.html + http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-kde/2013-11/msg00020.html And whole long discussion http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-kde/2013-10/msg00028.html :-) Sorry, I'm lazy to summarize it in this hour. ;-) Well... http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:KDE_repositories

I hope You can find needed information there, Vojtěch -- Vojtěch Zeisek Komunita openSUSE GNU/Linuxu Community of the openSUSE GNU/Linux http://www.opensuse.org/ http://trapa.cz/
Thanks for the info Vojtěch. For any one who is also wondering what happened to KDE repos that are not working, here is the relevant part of the email thread Vojtěch listed: "Why we want to change [the repository setup ] again: The reason behind it is twofold. The first reason is that we would like to reduce the maintenance efforts for all KDE related packages and on the other hand we want to maximize the usability for our users to find updates and latest versions of their KDE desktop software and applications." I have a remote data acquisition box running Suse 11.1. I had a desktop with Suse 11.1 that executed an rsync command without password successfully for 3+ years. I recently updated my desktop to Suse 12.3, and the rsync command not longer worked without typing in the password of the remote machine. I regenerated rsa keys for both remote and desktop machines and put each other's pub keys on the other machine in ~/.ssh/authorized_keys files Can anyone advise if there may be a reason why 12.3 Suse can't rsync to a Suse 11.1 machine? There could be several different causes, but if nothing else changed with regard to key storage, I would suggest that you look into settings in the ssh_config and or sshd_config that may disallow password-less keys. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

John, I had done comparisons before, but I went back again. A striking difference is the The 'Ciphers' line between 11.1 and 12.3 in the ssh_config files are different. 12.3 also has a 'MACs ...' line that 11.1 does not have. This suggests the pub keys are made with different ciphers between 11.1 and 12.3 Sound plausible? If yes, how do I overcome this Suse version system difference? Thanks, Allen

As already said - there could be several reasons: strange settings in ~/.ssh/config regarding the target, too weak permissions on $HOME, ~/.ssh, or below, etc. "ssh -vvv" or debug flags on the server side may help. Also watch the logs on the target. Have a nice day, Berny -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hi Allen, did you try to do an interactive (normal) ssh connection, as the same user, first? Reason for asking, afaicr, the very first time, you get a question at the client side if the host is trusted (and should be included in ~/.ssh/known_hosts. They question must explicitly answered with "yes", or else it will fail. After that you can use ssh non-interactively (commands, ssh-tunnel) hw -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
