I had a UPS failure yesterday. Now when I start KDE, the fontsize is about one pixel--enough to see it's there, but not enough to make out with a magnifying glass. I looked at XF86Config, but nothing seemed to be amiss there. The rest of the logon screen looks okay, making adjustments for the lack of space consumed by the text. And will there be text there for me to read? I can't even read the text on the login screen. I'm kinda limited to text consoles. As for the recommendation to check log files. I have nothing from the time of the failure. I suppose there was no time to clean up.

Open in an editor: ~/.kderc (~ means your home directory). Change the size of the font. Ex: StandartFont = Sans Serif,12,-1,5,....... The first value behind the font-type is the heigh. I sent you my .kderc, so if you want, you have to copy it in your home directory to replace the other. But try first to change values in the other one. Hope to help you Al

What did you do in SAX2 to fix the problem and will this also fix GNOME? The 1px fonts i'm having problems with are in GNOME. KDE is good. Jason

I've got the same issue 1px high fonts but mine is with GNOME not KDE.. KDE is fine. -Jason
