Hello, I recently upgraded from Suse 8.0 to 9.1. My SoundBlast Live card worked fine with 8.0 but gave no sound at all on 9.1 with the original kernel 2.6.4. I updated to 2.6.5 and rebooted (many times actually), but still no sound. I have Googled and looked at alsa-project.org, all to no avail. There has been no hardware configuration change, the drivers load properly, alsamixer and kamix see the card and show sliders for muting/unmuting and changing volume, but nothing works. The speakers are analog, not digital. Does anyone have a clue what might be wrong? I'm stumped. Thanks, Jim Cunning

I recently upgraded to 9.1 from 8.2 (different sound card), and there was a note to delete any previously configured sound card and reconfigure it via Yast, which I did and it worked for me. I was already running a 2.6.7 kernel (self-compiled), so it seems to be kernel independent. Anyway, mine is working after following the upgrade info.
