[opensuse] Re: removing an account from postfix

I agree that postfix has a lot of documentation, it might even seem quite overwhelming, but believe me, you will learn to appreciate it.
I do appreciate. But I run my own server to learn doing so. So I want to read the doc and understand. The more difficult is than I would like to test my work. It's often pretty difficult to find a test protocol. yet, with mail, you often have to send a mail then wait next day to see if it goes by. often nothing come in and nothing come back :-( I like telnet tests :-) (and read the logs :-) anyway I have to keep my mom account open long enough for all these friends to catch the change :-) thanks you all jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://valerie.dodin.org http://news.opensuse.org/2009/04/13/people-of-opensuse-jean-daniel-dodin/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

i don't understand why you should have to wait until the next day to see if your mail configuration works. just open one or more accounts at different (free) email providers, then you can send as many mails as you like to your or your mom's account and see immediately what happens. and there are log files available, too, which tell you what's happening; usually under /var/log/ -- phani. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
