RE: [SLE] Geforce3 X problem
Hi, I had very similar problem, it is somehow related to AGP code and/or 3D handling in kernel nvidia driver and/or 3D libraries for XFree. Here how I have solved this: 1) Install XFree 4.1, XFree GLX, SuSE Nvidia GLX, SGI glu library (everything from from SuSE CD). 2) Download and install SuSE 2.4.16 kernel (with 2.4.10 Xfree have not been able to quit without hang up). 3) Compile and install nvidia kernel module. 4) Compile and install (with make install) Nvidia GLX module from nVidia web site. 5) Run Sax2 and enjoy. ******************************************************** * Best Regards --- Andrei Verovski * * * * Home Page * * http://homepage.mac.com/MacGuruHQ/ * * Mac, Linux, DTP, Development, IT WEB Site * ********************************************************
Hi. I have SuSE 7.2 with custom kernel. The lines in /usr/src/linux/.config for NLS are: CONFIG_NLS_DEFAULT="iso8859-15" CONFIG_NLS_ISO8859_15=y (Appears documented: NLS ISO 8859-15 (Latin 9; Western European Languages with Euro)). On /etc/rc.config I have: RC_LANG="es_ES@euro" In X.4, using KDE2, on KDE control center I have character map as ISO 8859-15. With all that I can't see or use the euro symbol: -Editing or 'cat' a file containing the euro symbol (0x80 on Latin 9) I never see it, on a text console or within X. -Displaying a HTML page which I know (using windoze) contains the euro symbol, I don't see it (Netscape 4.76). -I cannot introduce the euro symbol with the keyboard, using AltGr+E or using Alt and the numeric keyboard (1,2,8). What am I missing? TIA.
I forgot. The console fonts loaded are Latin 9, as indicated in /etc/rc.config as follows:
CONSOLE_FONT="lat9v-08.psfu.gz"
