[opensuse] Mozilla Firefox add blocker
Do not know when I first discovered but since some time I can not close my gmail session because the upper part of the site is missing. Looked into gmail help site and discovered that this is said to be caused by a running pop-up add blocker. Looked into the setup and preferences of Firefox but did not find anything with regard to add blockers. What did I miss? I am running the Firefox 4.01 from opensuse 11.4 -- Linux User 183145 using LXDE and KDE4 on a Pentium IV , powered by openSUSE 11.4 (i586) Kernel: 2.6.39-rc7-24-desktop LXDE WM & KDE Development Platform: 4.6.3 (4.6.3) 15:39pm up 1 day 0:50, 3 users, load average: 1.88, 1.54, 1.36 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I don't know about a problem like this with FF. There is the Adblock-Addon which is featured for FF. (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/). But this addon is not located in the preferences but in the "Tools" menu. If you have installed Adblock, you might try to deactivate it and see what happens. If this works out, you might try to figure out, what exactly is blocked and deactivate the necessary part in the Adblock configuration. No need. *IF* you have AdBlock installed there will be what looks like a red stop sign it the top right part of Firefox. When you have Gmail open click on the Stop sign and there you can click on the appropriate "disable" feature for the site. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Gmail recently changed the header of the page. To logout, click on your email address (top right of the screen) and a small menu will pop up. The logout button is in there. http://gmail-com.com Dotan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Dotan, you saved my day. I had already reduced gmail to the simple HTML standard because I found the logout button there in the expected place. Have no Addblocker as far as I can see, so also no red extra dot. I am now back to the Standard Gmail setup. -- Linux User 183145 using LXDE and KDE4 on a Pentium IV , powered by openSUSE 11.4 (i586) Kernel: 2.6.39-rc7-24-desktop LXDE WM & KDE Development Platform: 4.6.3 (4.6.3) 22:18pm up 0:09, 3 users, load average: 1.60, 1.93, 1.29 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
