[opensuse] Kodak Camera not "automounted"
Hi, When connecting a "new for X-mas" Kodak camera, the USB conection as such is recognized by the system but the camera is not mounted, neither does GNOME offer to start the default camera application. Here is the info from the kernel log: usb 6-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 7 usb 6-1: New USB device found, idVendor=040a, idProduct=060b usb 6-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 usb 6-1: Product: KODAK EASYSHARE C183 Digital Camera usb 6-1: Manufacturer: Eastman Kodak Company usb 6-1: SerialNumber: C183 100523977 This is on openSUSE 11.3 32 bit. Anything I can do to get his camera to work? This camera should open fine in f-spot, digikam or gphoto2 commandline though. Also nautilus and kde kiokamera should detect it. Can you post the snippet of "lsusb -v"? Some more information. At first I didn't have an SD card in the camera, thus this might have had some kind of effect. However, with an SDHC card in the camera it still does not mount. I get two error message dialogs: Unable to mount Kodak Easyshare C183 Digital Camera Error initializing camera: -1: Unspecified error and Unable to mount Kodak Easyshare C183 Digital Camera Error initializing camera: -53: Could not claim USB device The syslog entries that go along with this event are as fllows: usb 6-2: USB disconnect, address 4 usb 6-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 5 usb 6-2: New USB device found, idVendor=040a, idProduct=060b usb 6-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 usb 6-2: Product: KODAK EASYSHARE C183 Digital Camera usb 6-2: Manufacturer: Eastman Kodak Company usb 6-2: SerialNumber: C183 100523977 usb 6-2: usbfs: process 30371 (gvfsd-gphoto2) did not claim interface 0 before use Bug 663289 Submitted Robert -- Robert Schweikert MAY THE SOURCE BE WITH YOU Software Engineer Consultant LINUX rschweikert@novell.com 781-464-8147 Novell Making IT Work As One -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
