Can someone give me a defenitive answer on what exactly to use for rpm management in SUSE 10? I have heard redcarpet is being phased out by some and not by others. The same goes for apt. I apologize if this has already been asked. Thanks, Ryan

From what I read on this list I understand that some people used redcarpet and messed up their system completely (SuSE 9.x) I wouldn't trust it if I were you. Maybe someone has tried it in a test-environment? -- Peter M. Ryan, I believe you will find some good alternatives at your disposal in 10. Yast2 of course is SuSE's own and works wonderfully for updating & adding programs. Also new to SuSE is the YUM package manager, taken from RH, SmartPM and I do believe APT is still available, but I think you will find the others easier and safer to use for newbies. end of line Lee
