Secondary hard drive not accessible
Does anybody have a second hard drive set up as slave on the primary IDE channel? I have SuSE 9.2 on the master drive with a small 6.4gb drive formatted as FAT32 as slave. This drive is in a removeable tray in order for me to be able to easily swap it between my Linux tin and my other PC running Window$. In SuSE 9.1 I was able to have full read, write and execute access to this drive as any user, root or a normal user. For some reason I cannot access it with write access under SuSE 9.2 as a normal user only as root. I have fully checked all permissions both for the drive, which is designated hdb5, and for the mount point. Ownership is set as users. I have even gone as far as copying my fstab line from a 9.1 set up into the 9.2 drive. Has anybody else come across this? I did use YAST to set it all up initially but have since tried to set it manually even though it made no difference. Help! -- Take care. Kevan Farmer 34 Hill Street Cheslyn Hay Staffordshire WS6 7HR
