How can I make an icon (oops widget, sorry) which will give me dolphin as root? I can get konquerer super user mode but alt+f2 kdesu dolphin gives me and error 'Could not start process. Could not talk to klauncher' Thanks L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Do you need a widget? You can use the Open As Root button on the lower right of the standard Dolphin window. This works nicely... at least for the few times you usually need root in a filemanager (which shouldn't be very often). Hi Lower right of the standard Dolphin window? I only see the amount of space I have on my hard drive. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Errr.. right... I was looking at the Dolphin in the Kubuntu install I have in VirtualBox... there they have an Open As Root button. Sorry... my mistake. There are a lot of interesting things you can do with Dolphin like open an embedded terminal panel (quite handy) and open an info panel (this is where the open as root shows in Kubuntu)... but no open as root that I can see.. maybe there is a plugin? BTW, Alt+F2, kdesu dolphin works fine for me in KDE4.0.84. C. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi

You have at least 2 option to run dolphin as root : 1. ALT + f2, kdesu dolphin 2. Right click on dolphin icon (eg : on main panel), icon settings, application tab, click advanced option and run as different user. (if you cannot pick a user name on first attempt, try it again) -- Best Regards, Masim "Vavai" Sugianto /************************************************************/ Blog (ID) : http://www.vavai.com/blog/index.php Blog (EN) : http://www.vavai.net Community : http://www.opensuse.or.id /************************************************************/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
