I am trying to get the template toolkit installed under 9.2:- /usr/bin/perl -MCPAN -e 'install "Template"' but it fails in two places. Firstly when performing the database tests on the default 'test' mysql database (user test, null password) it comes up saying:- t/dbi............ok 13/63Template process failed: DBI error - DBI connect failed: Unknown MySQL Server Host 'test' (1) FAILED 14: - template text 6 process FAILED: [% USE dbi -%]\n[% dbi.connect(da... Which suggests to me that its using the db name as the server name by mistake, or perhaps its the wrong default user/pw but thats what used to work on previous SuSE. Also setting the option to install XS Stash eventually leads to:- /bin/sh: cc: command not found make[1]: *** [Stash.o] Error 127 make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/.cpan/build/Template-Toolkit-2.14/xs' make: *** [subdirs] Error 2 /usr/bin/make -- NOT OK Anyone any ideas where to poke it now? I find the XS Stash error particularly obscure! -- Tim Nicholson http://www.bbc.co.uk/ This e-mail (and any attachments) is confidential and may contain personal views which are not the views of the BBC unless specifically stated. looks like you need to install gcc. Try rpm -q gcc to see if it's installed or try yast2 -i gcc to install it. -- Jack Morgan

Which of course is so blindingly obvious, that I would be bound to say I've checked that, which of course I had. Only problem, I was running a remote install via ssh, and sure I had gcc on my system, and I had double checked, but not on the remote......... :( Aren't remote shells wonderful! -- Tim Nicholson http://www.bbc.co.uk/ This e-mail (and any attachments) is confidential and may contain personal views which are not the views of the BBC unless specifically stated.
