Hi. Running SuSE 9.1 and the Apache2 off the CD's. Whenever I try to start Apache with either "apache2ctl start" or "/etc/init.d/apache2 start" I get the following error message: Syntax error on line 26 of /etc/apache2/sysconfig.d/loadmodule.conf: Cannot load /usr/lib/apache2-prefork/mod_proxy_connect.so into server: /usr/lib/apache2-prefork/mod_proxy_connect.so: undefined symbol: ap_proxyerror I'ver removed and reinstalled every Apache related twice and the error remains. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks - Dan

No, I have done no updates (to Apache). The (Apache) installation is right off the CD's. Dan

Never mind. ap_proxyerror is in mod_proxy.so. Cheers, Leen
Hello! I experienced similar problem (other errors) after installing Apache2 on SUSE 9.1 running as VMware guest OS. Unfortunately in my case I had to reinstall the whole system from scratch to get it up and running. Just check my posts within last 2 weeks to see description of the issues. What was the subject? When was the message posted? Cheers, Leen -- A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text. Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing? A: Top-posting. Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?

Very simple -- mod_proxy_connect requires mod_proxy being loaded beforehand. Put it before mod_proxy_connect. And you _should_ install the YOU updates. Peter
