My onboard sound is GA-7VAX Onboard Audio (Realtek ALC650) autodetected and set up, but there is no sound. I also have a SoundBlaster Live something which is in a pci slot. I tried to set it up but the error is : "The kernel module snd-emu10k1 for sound support could not be loaded. This can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters." In the logs I see: May 12 16:59:03 gandalf kernel: ALSA sound/pci/via82xx.c:727: invalid via82xx_cur_ptr, using last valid pointer May 12 16:59:05 gandalf last message repeated 19 times May 12 17:03:02 gandalf kernel: ALSA sound/pci/via82xx.c:727: invalid via82xx_cur_ptr, using last valid pointer May 12 17:03:02 gandalf last message repeated 8 times May 19 07:55:24 gandalf kernel: ALSA sound/pci/via82xx.c:728: invalid via82xx_cur_ptr, using last valid pointer any ideas or suggestions? -- Bob Rea mailto:gapetard@stsams.org http://www.petard.us http://www.petard.us/blog http://www.petard.us/gallery Time is the best teacher.
