Quick question about Yast and Apache
On SuSE 9.1 (I think it was the same on 9.0), Yast has two places where one can configure modules for Apache2. One is at System -> /etc /sysconfig editor and then Network -> WWW -> Apache2 and then modifyin the APACHE_MODULES variable. Another appears to be Network Services - > HTTP Server and then selecting modules and clicking on edit. It seems that not the same list of modules is shown in both places. Where should one go to add a new module? I have gotten it to work by going the first route (System -> /etc/sysconfig editor ...) but cannot seem to get it to work by using the second method. Which is the preferred method? Thanks in advance for any help, -- --Moby They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. -- Benjamin Franklin First they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me. -- Pastor Martin Niemöller

The list "should" be roughly equivalent in both cases. In case of doubt, the list in /etc/sysconfig/apache2 (which is shown by the sysconfig editor) is authoritative. There might be some tweaks in the YaST module to show something sligthly different (well, it's YaST's task to hide the details, isn't it?).

Well, the first method always works ;-) If method 2 (YaST) doesn't work, a bug report would be appreciated (www.suse.com/feedback). Peter
A friend of mine just bought SuSE 9.1 Personal from CompUSA. The box
contained everything except the CDs :-)

No, more expensive. He said that they were selling it for $39.95 and
SuSE's literature has it for $29.95.

SuSE dropped the price on the personal edition from 9.0 to 9.1. That sounds like the 9.0 price. Personally I'd look to Borders, but they only seem to carry the Pro editions. Mike

Is this the new Ether-FTP install medium I've been waiting to hear about? :) Mike

Is this the new Ether-FTP install medium I've been waiting to hear about? :) Yes, only at CompUSA :-) Actually, a certain company located in Armonk, New York invented this technique back in the 1960s. As a data center manager, I once received a new version of an OS (I think it was VM/370), where the media actually contained data that was totally unrelated.

The personal is DVD only? No vapor. It had no media :-)
