When I'm writing a cd with XCDROAST i get the following error each time a new track is started : "CDROM read error. Please make sure you have access permissions to /dev/SCD0". /dev/SCD0 is my cd writer and it's line in fstab is as follows : /dev/scd0 /cdrom iso9660 ro,noauto, user, exec 0 0. The cd write is not affected, but I could do without the message, what do I have to alter to put it right ? Well, which device did you give xcdroast? /dev/SCD0 and /dev/scd0 are different names and /dev/SCD0 normally doesn't exist.
/dev/SCD0 is my cd writer and it's line in fstab is as follows :
/dev/scd0 /cdrom iso9660 ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0.
More interesting would be the permissions of both xcdroast and /cdrom. And
it would also help if you'd post the exact commandline with which you call
xcdroast.

Sorry, SCD0 is my typo, should be scd0.

/dev/scd0 /cdrom iso9660 ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0.

XCDROAST identifies the cd writer which is set to scd0, and uses that device to read and write cd's. XCDROAST has to be run by root, unless you try and set it up in non-root mode. I tried that and couldn't make it work so I run it as root. CDROM appears to have owner root and user root permissions. Should I change that ?
it would also help if you'd post the exact commandline with which you call xcdroast.
I run it from an xterm and call it by typing "xcdroast"

/dev/scd0 /cdrom iso9660 ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0. Doesn't this make it Read Only?^^
