Video configuration problem I'm having problems setting up a Suse Linux system on an AMD-K6/233 PC using a S3Virge/DX video card connected to a CTX VL510 monitor. I noticed both the card and monitor are on Suse's supported hardware database. My problem is that the system boots fine. The display looks fine until the login screen appears. From that point on the screen is very noisey. I've tried changing some of the settings in Sax2 but have not made progress. I replaced the video card with a Trident, rebooted, YAST noticed the card change and reconfigured, and the noisey display only got worse. What am I doing wrong? Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Matt

Maybe an incompatible resolution/refresh rate combination? Try a different mix of resolutions with low refresh rates. Make sure you have the correct sync rates for your monitor set up with Sax2. I don't know what settings you changed in Sax2, but thats all i can think of. If you cahnged the video card with the same problem, maybe its related solely to your monitor's setup (refresh rates and such...) Good Luck. #------------------------ #Eric Bambach #Eric@CISU.net #------------------------
