If you start the screensaver with "lock screen" instead of selecting "start new session", your session will be locked with a password prompt. The KDE screensaver has a button "start new session", so you can do it from there if you want to keep your session locked.

The sound card is by default owned by the person who logs in first. If you want all users to be able to play sounds, you need to edit /etc/logindevperm and set all audio devices (/dev/sequencer*, /dev/midi*, /dev/audio*, /dev/dsp*) to 0660. If you open that file in a text editor I'm sure you'll see what I mean. Right now they're set to 0600, so just change that to 0660. Naturally, you need to be root to edit that file regards Anders
