Re: [SLE] KDE3.1 --> KDE3.1.1 - What problems to expect?
From: Radule Soskic
I downloaded KDE3.1.1 from kde.org (rpm files dated 29.03.) but did not install yet. I am hesitating to do so since I remember some voices on this list reporting some problems.
I use SuSE 8.1 with KDE3.1 installed.
I would appreciate the list users to give known reasons (if any) against upgrade to 3.1.1.
Are there any issues, how big they are, any known solutions etc?
All I know is I tried to update from 3.04 to 3.11 yesterday and I ended up with a system that won't do X or sax2. I ended up deleting and having to reinstall 8.1 or just wait on 8.2 Roy

I recently installed KDE 3.1.1 download from a SuSE mirror using SuSE rpms and have got no problems after the machine was fully restarted. Adam

I did the same on 8.0 (update from 3.04 to 3.1.1) instead of updating 3.0.4, and it worked without a hitch. I didn't get the rpms from kde, I used apt-get to download the files I needed (but installed from the command line). YMMV Apt gets the rpms from ftp, gwdg.de I believe. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM.
