This concerns the attempt at installing 9.2 Upgrade onto a Dell Dimension 2350. On the first boot from the hard drive after installing the software, the boot sequence stalled and then hung up. The boot reboot indicated: Activating remaining swap devices in /etc/fstab Restore device permissions INIT: Entering runlevel: 5 INIT: Id "1" respawning too fast: disable for 5 minutes INIT: Id "2" respawning too fast: disable for 5 minutes INIT: Id "3" respawning too fast: disable for 5 minutes INIT: Id "4" respawning too fast: disable for 5 minutes INIT: Id "5" respawning too fast: disable for 5 minutes INIT: Id "6" respawning too fast: disable for 5 minutes INIT: No more processes left inthis runlevel After 5 minutes, the same thing occurred, and after INIT: Id "6" respawning too fast: disable for 5 minutes it stopped cold. I could not turn off the computer; I had to unplug it. There are two interesting things that should be noted: 1) I have an Adaptec SCSI card in the computer 2) I had to insert two modules disks -- 2 and 5 -- at the beginning of the installation.
