Midi Software Wavetable Synth
Hi everyone, My desktop PC uses an Aureal 8820 soundcard, which finally has a driver that has been patched so that KDE2 can work with it. However, it still has one anoying problem - it doesn't have wavetable synthesis (i.e. I can't hear MIDI files from web pages or open them, etc.). Recently, I heard that there was a way to setup TiMidiTy to make it act as a driver for /dev/synth. However, I haven't been able to find anything that seems to hint at how to do this. I also know that the Open Sound System has a software synth program, but I would rather avoid buying OSS if I can, since I don't need anything besides the software synth driver. Any ideas?
