RE: [SLE] Cups, router with DHCP problem
How were you assigning IPs before you bought the router? Installation was straightforward, the router has IP 192.168.1.1 and the five Lan machines get their IP through the dhcp server included in the router. My lan has 2 SuSe linux boxes and 3 windows boxes. One of the linux boxes has a Samsung ML1710 laser printer and a HP deskjet attached to it. Before I put in the router, each lan box could print to my printers via cups + samba. Now printing does not work any more, and I'm trying to find a solution. Actually there are two problems: 1. the linux box does not find the cups server on the machine the printer is attached to 2. the windows boxes, which were configured to print to http://IP address:631/printers/ml1710, can't anymore because the the dhcp server gives a different IP each time a box comes on. How do I configure this. I would greatly value the expertise of more experienced users.
