Hello Everybody: Recently I have upgraded my Suse 9.0 system to Suse 9.1 through YAST System Update. After this I wanted to update the new system by YOU. However the version is still 9.0 in the YOU System Information window and YOU searches for update packages according to this info. How can I set this version info to 9.1 in YOU? Thanks for the help, IG

I believe there is an article on the SuSE portal regarding this situation.

Check your system for packages that couldn't be updated from that point. The one I remember is aaa-base. HTH. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Registered Linux user 231871

My system is runnig well, it seems that the update by YAST update system was succesful. I just want to update to the freshest packages using YOU. I've checked my aaa-base, it's for 9.1
rpm -qa|grep aaa aaa_skel-2003.9.18-93 aaa_base-9.1-0
Anyway, how can I check which package might belong to the original Suse 9.0 and which to the 9.1 installation? Thanks, IG

Go here to do a search on the problem you are having. it was asked earlier when others were updating to 9.2, so that will also pertain to you. http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=suse-linux-e&r=1&w=2 Joe mentioned it above, but you may not have known where to go to do your search. regards, Lee -- --- KMail v1.7.1 --- SuSE Linux Pro v9.2 --- Registered Linux User #225206 "Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game!"

Hi IG, I think the proper way to UPGRADE from one vers to the next is to boot the new versions DVD #1 or CD #1 and select the Install >Upgrade option. The YAST option >System Update is something completely different, but don't ask me what it is for> PeteB
