Thinking of upgrading my kernel from Suse/Mantel's dir to support a device. Question on upgrading the kernel in rpm format? After I install the rpm, what do I have to do to get my system in sync with the new kernel? John
run 2 commands mkinitrd lilo You will more than likely be reminded of these when you install the rpm. They usually print a little message to the screen to tell you that. Cheers On Tue, 2002-09-24 at 06:41, jfmurphy wrote:

Thanks have the kernel up and running, As you said did get those reminders from the install. First try at it so wanted to be sure. John "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference." -- Robert Frost
