That is true, but my (and I think others) problem is when there is a folder structure: you have to go folder by folder, level by level, marking the messages as unread. Lívio

You can put a button on the KMail toolbar that marks all messages in the current folder as read. Right click the toolbar and choose "Configure toolbars" The button looks like a black foot. Drag it to where you want it.

It's still a bit manual for your task, but it's how I keep on top of this list.

Well... I can think some reasons. Let me see... they are not as "intuitive" as the mouse for a first timer. They are more expensive. The first contact will surely be with a mouse 90% of times. Switchover can take some time, as many things in computers (learning curve).

I switched when I was testing one for a client over a week or two. We wanted a mouse that could work in a mechanics shop, with inevitable dirt and grease... and it did: the ball has little dots that are read directly without wheels. It took some time to get used to, but I noticed that my elbow ache disappeared. Instead I get sometimes a slight thumb ache.

Try the Logitec Marble trackball it's layout is superbe (SP) no thunmb ache no ache at all mice on the other hand cause almost instant grief .. Pete .
