Hello All, Kuickshow is missing from 9.2 instead a util called 'gwenview' which is (in my case) unusable, it freezes the system completely. Is there an alternative (good simple and fast) picture viewer (i now use xzgv, but i cant get it to work on directories by clicking on a jpg in konqueror, it will only show this one jpg). You might try gqview, which is a gnome app. It has everything you would expect, thumbnails, slide shows, etc.

I can't find this package on the disks - is it part of the 9.2 distro, and if so are we sure it's called that? a search for 'graphics' or 'imaging' in yast doesn't turn it up. While I'm on, has Pixie been dropped altogether now? I know development seemed to have stopped ages ago but it was still better than gwenview, which has its points but does indeed freeze up and doesn't seem ready yet. Cheers Fergus

Hi Doug - if I do the same search with the CDs for i386, the provides search just shows kdegraphics3 base, which is installed, but doesn't appear to provide kuickshow. At the bottom of the screen there is the suggestion: "More kdegraphics applications can be found in: kdegraphics3-fax kdegraphics3-kamera kdegraphics3-pdf kdegraphics3-postscript kdegraphics3-imaging kdegraphics3-scan kdegraphics3-tex kdegraphics3-extra " but in fact the CDs don't seem to have a package called kdegraphics3-imaging Does your machine have that package on it? Cheers Fergus

There's the reason!! kuickshow is on the DVD install, but NOT on the CDs.....screwed again!! Fred -- "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." - Benjamin Franklin 1759

It's there......I have it installed, but kuickshow ISN'T included in it.

kdegraphics3-imaging is on the DVD, not the CDs It is, however, also in the supplementary packages where you'll find a 3.3.1 update ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_9.2/ ie whatever mirror you prefer

The "based package" is there, but NOT "imaging" etc. I ASSUME that they are on the DVD. Fred -- "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." - Benjamin Franklin 1759
