I have a DWL-G650 wirless card setup. The problem is the following # ifdown eth0 # ifup ath0 Starting DHCP Client Daemon on ath0... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . no IP address yet... backgrounding. I have had a similar problem with a DHCP server: I hadn't get an ip-adress. I had to create the file /etc/resolv.conf first and inserted the following: nameserver an_ip_adress search group.domain Write what you wand for "group.domain", in my case, SuSE only wanted the file to exist. Than it worked! Andreas
the eth0 comes up without any problems
iwconfig

... I didn't have that problem, maybe because I tried a 'wired' connection first. Maybe you should also read the thread 'Wireless routing' from a few days ago. Now that you post that ifcfg-file I remember what I removed to get it working : DHCLIENT_SET_DOWN_LINK='yes' (I don't know what it means B.T.W.). But if I'll try to test this, this weekend. -- Met vriendelijke groeten, Koenraad Lelong R&D Manager ACE electronics n.v.
