This isn't a vital problem: it falls more under the category of "annoying things you want to go away."

Just got a new laptop, and blew away windows and installed SuSE 8.0 on it. So far, seems to be working pretty well (even got the wireless card going with a minimum of cursing).

The only thing: when the system boots, it looks as if ide-scsi is setting up the CD-RW/DVD drive 7 times:

I haven't tried burning with the drive yet, but it seems to be reading both CD's and DVD's without any problem, so I'm sure the fact my system thinks there are 7 devices isn't causing too much problems. Like I said, it's more of an annoyance than anything. But...why is ide-scsi picking the drive up 7 times, and is there any way to get it to stop?
