When I run kpackage from the command line I get the message: "kpackage: error in loading shared libraries: libpopt.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" Can somebody help me out here? much thanks, Jerry -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq

Same thing happened on my system. The updated version for popt (1.5-72)
broke kpackage. I had to backlevel popt to the original version (1.5-0)
to fix kpackage. When kpackage is executed there's a error message about
'rpmHeaderFormats', but it works.
Good luck.

Thanks to all. Just for everybody's information. I installed the latest kpackage.rpm from the SuSE ftp site. That did not fix the problem. I had upgraded popt from the ftp site earlier. I had to do as Brian suggested and reinstall popt from the original 6.4 cd. THAT fixed the problem. Much thanks to all, Jerry VB Brian wrote:
