Re: [SLE] (OT) Deletion of mail from pop server
I have a similar question. If I don't have physical access to
the mail server (that is, it's an SMTP account at my ISP), is
there any way I can empty my mailbox without downloading
all the messages? I thought of using fetchmail to do this, but
offhand I don't see anything mentioned about this in the
fetchmail man page.

Just delete that mailbox from /var/spool/mail.
Doh! Bangs head on table. Thank you! The spool was in a slightly different location, but this did the trick.
Zentara - thanks for the ref to poppy. I'd never heard of it before, but it would appear to be ideal for cases where you don't have access to the server. I'm poring over it now!

Does your ISP have a webmail access system set up? Maybe this would allow you to delete them, although it's hardly the greatest of ideas.
