SUSE 9.2 and cdwriter odd behaviour
Hi I have just installed a suse 9.2 pro environment onto one of my systems. In general not too bad an experience. The item I want to check with the list is periodically the drawer on my cdwriter comes out with no request from me i.e. like an eject command has been issued. Setup is a DVD ROM and a CDWRITER share the secondary IDE bus. No problems with the DVD ROM only with the writer. I can access the writer but it will still eject the drawer. This was not a problem with the 8.1 environment previously installed. Any pointers welcome. BR Jim -- Jim Hamilton Perth, Western Australia
Hi, Reviewed a later entry which pointed to the same type of problem in 9.1 which pointed to suseplugger. Armed with this info found I only needed to uncheck the "directly start the application" check box and the drive drawer no longer spits out. Only thing now is start application manually or attempt to find which Autostart option causes the problem. On Wed, 3 Nov 2004 05:03 pm, Jim Hamilton wrote:
