Lost ability to change desktop text color
Along with my konsole font problem i can't control the color of the text under the icons on the desktop(KDE 3.1.3). It almost seems like gnome is picking the color for kde. I remember there was a way in 8.1 to make nautilus stop taking complete control but i can't find that in 8.2. TIA -- Franklin Maurer Using SuSE 8.2 Pro

I just filed a bug report earlier at KDE about this, and this was the reply: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62058 binner@kde.org changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution| |INVALID ------- Additional Comments From binner@kde.org 2003-08-03 12:01 ------- SuSE package specific problem. So it seems this is a SuSE packaging problem. I have already reported this to SuSE as well. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM. Yes. I don't know about root, I never log in to kde as root, but I know it was the same for a new user. I was trying to find out what is wrong, and found out kdesktoprc is being rewrote with the new font color info, but it is being ignored. I suspect a patch gone awry. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM. It almost seems like gnome is picking the color for kde. I remember there was a way in 8.1 to make nautilus stop taking complete control but i can't find that in 8.2.
In gconf-editor, set the following two keys to false: /desktop/gnome/background/draw_background /apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop [Can this be added to the FAQ?] -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 8.2). Thanks James, but it didn't work. This is so odd, I can underline the text, change the font, change the size but not the stupid color. -- Franklin Maurer Using SuSE 8.2 Pro

Thanks Joe I'm downloading the kde upgrades now, if the problem still persists I'll post again. Thanks -- Franklin Maurer Using SuSE 8.2 Pro
