I am trying to play a DVD but I keep getting a message from Kaffeine: The Source could not be read. Maybe you don't have enough rights for this, or source doesn't contain data (e.g. no disk in drive) (error reading NAV packet) Tried a couple of DVDs and getting the same :( Sean -- ICQ: 679813 FidoNet: 2:263/950 Jabber: tcob1@jabber.org AOL: tcobone Vodafone Messenger: thecivvie

i've had that error before and it was because of copy protection.

If it is copy protection how are you going to copy it? You need to install libdvdcss in order to read/playback encrypted DVDs. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge

Umm, never thought of that, wonder would MPlayer use it if it were installed Sean -- ICQ: 679813 FidoNet: 2:263/950 Jabber: tcob1@jabber.org AOL: tcobone Vodafone Messenger: thecivvie
It would use exactly the same library.
You can't get around installing libdvdcss if you want to use encrypted DVDs.
