How do I set eth0 to stay installed upon reboot?
Check /etc/modules.conf if it has an alias for eth0 set properly. E.g. for Intel card it should have "alias eth0 e100"

Thanks for the response. I have that exact entry in my modules.conf .. A little background.. The NIC on the motherboard fried, so now eht0 is a PCI nic.. I have disabled the motherboard NIC in BIOS .. Im not sure if this has anything to do with it or not? Thanks..

What does your /var/log/boot.msg say? Look for the lines after <notice>start services (network)

Not sure either. On the next boot, specify confirm as a parameter to your kernel and then use interactive startup mode. That might provide more clues on what's going wrong. Regards, -Kastus PS No need to cc: me, I'm reading the list.
