Well, I disagree with them. On-access IS needed now and even more in the future!
But it is not needed for linux. It is only needed for linux boxes doing file serving for windows boxes! Ie, it can be better handled directly from samba, not from the kernel.
Really? And, what about trojans and virus that do affect Linux and there WILL be more in the future? Further, there are MANY who'd like to make sure they don't pass on a MickySoft designated virus to others.
And how would the linux machine be protected via on-access-scan? If you are pasing something to windows machines, it will be through email (for which you do not need dazuko at all) or through samba shares, for which dazuko should not be needed. - -- Saludos Carlos E.R. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.4-svn0 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFIcz8/tTMYHG2NR9URAutNAJ417JkRK/QSI15OhieVV5bZ3s4ikQCeNfOY a/fncXHY063qXg+2Hr7UCrQ= =zHGy -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
