monitor power/energy saving SuSe 9.0
Folks, Even though I have configured KDE manager to power off my monitor after 20 minutes of no activity I notice it never powers off (like windoz does) and the monitor remains grey at about 50% or so brightness. My question is does this energy saving feature work and how do I get it to work? Thanks, Babu __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Go look at your /etc/X11/XF86Config file and see if your monitor section looks something like: Section "Monitor" DisplaySize 360 290 HorizSync 31-70 Identifier "Monitor[0]" ModelName "1280X1024@75HZ" Option "DPMS" VendorName "--> VESA" VertRefresh 50-75 UseModes "Modes[0]" EndSection It's the DPMS that you are probably missing. Add it in and then restart X. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S.
