has his own ftp/http mirror server that archives a some out-of-support distros, including OS 10.2: http://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/discontinued/distribution/10.2/repo/ There may be others, but I often use this as a primary source for both Mandriva Cooker and openSUSE Factory.
Felix, a question. You cannot put them in yast or smart as repos though, right? Just use to download individual files, right? Bob S -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Not Felix, but why wouldn't you put them in as repo's. That's how they are presented. Have a look at what is suggested and decide for yourself. It's not really difficult, just requires a browser. Compare what you see to any of the other repo's. -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Ohhh,,,,Patrick,Patrick, God bless your soul. Perchance you were a school teacher in a former life? With your hints and riddles? Paining you to give a direct answer? It's been 60 years since I was a school boy of 14. Thanks for replying anyway. Don't have other repos in 10.2 to compare the URL to. But I'll figure it out eventually. If I do it *for* you, what will you gain when you need to do it again?
Paining you to give a direct answer?
Paining not to would be more accurate :^)
It's been 60 years since I was a school boy of 14.
And 54 for me :^)

Sure you do, there are lots of repo's out there. 10.2 does not make a repo a repo, but merely limits it's use. The questions posed would have been very easy to have just tried and they would have answered themselves. Do you have no adventure? You will not gain knowledge without some effort expended by *you*! -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Don't know what your problem is. I used mc to change the files in /etc/smart/channels/ from download.opensuse.org to ftp5.gwdg.de and had no problem running 'smart update' or 'smart upgrade zypper libzypp dbus-1 mkinitrd opera unzip'. -- "The Scriptures tell us righteousness exalteth a Nation." 2nd U.S. President, John Adams Team OS/2 ** Reg. I just updated both 10.2 & 11.0. 10.2 now has Opera 10, while 11.0 still has Opera 9.64. :-( -- "The Scriptures tell us righteousness exalteth a Nation." 2nd U.S. President, John Adams Team OS/2 ** Reg.
