Setting non-X Vertical Refresh rate
Heya; I've got SuSE 9.1 Personal with a flawlessly working X configuration. X is fine, but everything else runs with the wrong vertical refresh rate. I can still see everything, but I can't pan my old 15" Panasonic E15 monitor far enough over to see the entire screen, and the part that hangs off the left sorta folds underneath the rest. I've had this before, and it's solved by setting the vertical refresh rate to 75Hz. (As opposed to 60Hz, I believe.) How do I do this? I know how for X, but not... um... whatever you call everything else. Thanx, ES

Do you use framebuffer on the console? I did on an older monitor and it screwed up totally. Check for the vga= entry and see if changing that changes the behavior. Or make sure framebuffering is turned off. -- /Rikard ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rikard Johnels email : rikjoh@norweb.se Web : http://www.rikjoh.com Mob : +46 735 05 51 01 ------------------------ Public PGP fingerprint ---------------------------- < 15 28 DF 78 67 98 B2 16 1F D3 FD C5 59 D4 B6 78 46 1C EE 56 >
