gcc3.3 and 2.95.#
Hey Group: I am running SuSE8.2 with GCC3.# and it seems that every program (except ytree-1.77) fails to compile. About every one of these were done under SuSE8.0 without a headache. However, under 8.2 no luck. Is this problem another libc5/6 type of gcc change or just lib changes (say like QT and or GTK) -- 73 de Donn Washburn __ " http://www.hal-pc.org/~n5xwb " Ham Callsign N5XWB / / __ __ __ __ __ __ __ 307 Savoy St. / /__ / / / \/ / / /_/ / \ \/ / Sugar Land, TX 77478 /_____/ /_/ /_/\__/ /_____/ /_/\_\ LL# 1.281.242.3256 a MSDOS Virus "Free Zone" OS Email: n5xwb@hal-pc.org Info: http://www.knoppix.net

What error messages do you get? gcc 3.2 will fail on some code (e.g. if both function declaration and function definition includes a default value) where 2.9x would have ignored the error. But, it's more likely you've just got missing *-devel packages. -- JDL Non enim propter gloriam, diuicias aut honores pugnamus set propter libertatem solummodo quam Nemo bonus nisi simul cum vita amittit.

Almost all of the problems I've encountered were bugs in the code that gcc
prior to 3.0 didn't catch.
For further comments I'd have to see the actual error messages.
