Hi, Are there any tools to monitor traffic on my lan. I want to monitor how much data and keep logs of it going in and out IPS number. Thanks, Paul
MRTG will monitor bytes transferred on each interface. With a little
bit of editting the firewall scripts you can monitor traffic on
specific ports or IP addresses. Just send it to a user-defined chain
and use IPchains accounting I have a script to translate the IPchains
data to MRTG's format that I downloaded from xidus.net.

Sure. If you use SuSE 7.1, in the package network you got a tool called iptraf. Otherwise download it from http://iptraf.seul.org/download.html Raul
