All of a sudden I get the following error when trying to update channels in Smart. Which version of smart are you using? In any case, please file a bugreport on http://bugzilla.novell.com and assign it to me (cthiel@novell.com). I am getting the same issues (smart-0.41-28.guru.suse101@i686). It happens when smart tries to fetch repository information at this address: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-10.1/inst-source/media.1/media - i "get error reading socket" with links -dump - is it an error on one of the mirrors? craig --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-help@opensuse.org

No, it is a bug which is fixed in SVN and will be present in smart 0.42. Wait for that or use the pre-testing packages from http://software.opensuse.org/download/home:/cthiel1/ (maybe Pascal will updates his ones, too) Andreas Hanke --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-help@opensuse.org

Huh? The additions to the latest SVN is made of my patches to 95%, I
don't see anything really worth building a new package before 0.42 comes
out.
What bug is that ?
Looks like a mirror problem to me, not a smart problem.. what am I
missing ? :)
cheers

Well, in the end it was a mirror/redirection problem, which caused smart to crash. But the latests bits that I'v added to the yast2.py workarounded this crash ;) Nothing to pick up prior to 0.42.
